Thong Not Bay, Khanom, is easily accessible by various means of transportation. Here's a breakdown of the most common ways to get to the festival:
 

BY PLANE

Closest Airport: Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport (NST) & Surat Thani Airport (URT) are the most convenient airports for reaching the festival. Several domestic airlines offer flights from Bangkok and other major Thai cities.

From the Airport: You can easily catch our festival bus. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, hire a car, or utilize airport transfer services to complete your journey to Thong Not Bay. Expect approximately a 1-hour drive from both airports.

BY CAR (From Bangkok)

Driving Directions: The drive from Bangkok to Thong Not Bay, Khanom, takes about 10-11 hours. Here's a recommended route:

  • Take Highway No. 4 (Bangkok-Prachuap Khiri Khan-Chumphon)
  • Turn onto Highway No 41 via Surat Thani-Thung Song.
  • Continue onto Highway No. 4015 to reach Thong Not Bay.

Tip: Plan for breaks along the way and factor in possible traffic, especially during peak hours or holidays.

BY CAR & BOAT (From Koh Phangan)

Ferry from Koh Phangan to the Mainland (150 mins): Your journey starts with a ferry ride from Koh Phangan to the mainland. Several ferry services operate between Koh Phangan and Surat Thani pier, which is the closest mainland city with good road connections. Arrive at the Ferry Terminal in Surat Thani pier.

Travel by Car from Surat Thani Pier to Thong Not Bay (45 mins): After reaching Surat Thani Pier, you can continue your journey to Thong Not Bay by car.

Driving Route: The most common driving route from Surat Thani to Khanom involves taking Route 401 and Route 4014 towards Nakhon Si Thammarat, and then following signs to Thong Not Bay.

Tip: People from Koh Phangan without a car can catch our festival bus directly from Surat Thani Pier to our venue.

FOR BACKPACKERS

Public Transportation: Buses are an affordable and convenient option for backpackers traveling to the Sola Luna Festival. Multiple bus companies offer routes from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal directly to Nakhon Si Thammarat.

From Nakhon Si Thammarat: Once in Nakhon Si Thammarat, you can easily catch our festival bus, a local bus, or hire a taxi for the final leg of your journey to Thong Not Bay.

Travel Tip: If you're exploring Thailand on a budget, consider taking overnight buses to maximize your time and save on accommodation costs.
